The sole purpose of existence of “The Smaranika” can be summarized as:

• To promote Odia language and culture
• To enhance public access to Odia literature/artworks/culture worldwide
• Present literary works of other languages to Odia community in Odia language
• To encourage more users to read and write in Odia language on digital platforms such as smartphones, computers etc.
• To encourage publishers to write in Odia language instead of transliterating Odia in English
• To help search engines like Google and Bing index more digital content in Odia language script so that they can offer “ଓଡ଼ିଆ (Odia)” as an option to search on their platforms
• To help individuals and organizations in their works related to Odia language, especially in digitizing content in Odia language script

2. How our services are funded

We are committed to provide free content in Odia language for all; we do not charge you to access the contents of “The Smaranika”. Anyone can access, learn and build upon the contents of “The Smaranika” for free, subject to due credit in terms of a link/reference/citation, given to “The Smaranika”.

For financial support, we might take help via crowdfunding/advertisements/charging businesses and/or individuals for helping them in their work. By using “The Smaranika” you are giving your consent that you might see interest based personalized Ads (advertisements) on our website. Please note, our focus is and has always been "people over profit". Although we might allow businesses to show their Ads, we will limit them in a way that it does not distract our users too much from using "The Smaranika".
